“Blossom from the Soul” Topper

Designers: Jackie Howard Kraybill and Beth Hendricks

Our Northwest Wools Featured Knit Pattern gets its name from a quote by Henry Ward Beecher: “Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul.” Beecher was a famous social reformer of the 1800s, who supported women’s suffrage and the abolition of slavery.

The Topper is knit in the round, and the pattern includes directions for three sizes, so you can get the fit just right. The yarn is Rios by Malabrigo, a soft superwash Merino wool that comes in an array of beautiful colors. We have curated three different color combinations for you in our Yarn Kits – and we love each combo! These Yarn Kits include 3 skeins of Rios plus our Pattern.  To shop these Yarn kits online, visit our Online Store.

Namaste Shawlette

Designer: Tinaka Schwendiman

Our Northwest Wools Crochet Featured Pattern is a celebration of gratitude for the natural world. The design of this rhombus-shaped shawlette works from the ground up: You’ll start with stitches that resemble rocks, then move onto leaves and flowers. All combine to create a lovely vision of nature you can wear around your shoulders.

The Namaste Shawlette uses one skein of Malabrigo Sock yarn. Our Yarn Kits include the pattern and come in two color choices.  We also offer the option to dress yours up with a Jul Designs shawl pin. We’ll have a limited supply on hand, so be sure to shop early, either in our Brick & Mortar Shop or our Online Store if you want to be sure of getting one of your own.  Please note Shawl Pins are sold separately from these Yarn Kits.

Nature's Secret Woven Cowl

Nature’s Secret Cowl

Designer: Peg Silloway

We are excited to once again be offering a pattern for all of you weavers during the Rose City Yarn Crawl! The Nature’s Secret Cowl is designed to be woven on a rigid heddle loom, but it can be woven on a 4-shaft loom as well.  In naming the cowl, Peg was inspired by a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson: “Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.”

Our Yarn Kits include 3 balls of Plymouth Baby Alpaca yarn in coordinated colors, plus Peg’s pattern.  The yarn is 100% Baby Alpaca, a soft and cozy yarn.   You can purchase this Yarn Kit either in our Brick & Mortar Shop or our Online Store.  Limited quantities available, so don’t wait to grab yours!

Thanks to Peg Silloway, one of our Rigid Heddle Weaving Instructors, for this lovely pattern. Peg is also well-known in the weaving community as the artistic force behind Silloway Weaving Studio.
