The Rose City Yarn Crawl Mystery Alongs
There’s Still Time to Join in the Fun of the Mystery Alongs!
The Rose City Yarn Crawl Mystery Knit Along and Mystery Crochet Along are the perfect way to kick off the new year, as you celebrate Selfish Project Month and begin your Countdown to Crawl all at the same time.
The Mystery Alongs are patterns given to you one section, or “clue,” at a time. When you purchase your Mystery Along on Ravelry, you’ll receive a “pre-clue,” which gives you a general idea of what you’re making, along with the yarn and equipment requirements. Once the pattern clues begin (this year on January 5), you’ll receive one through your Ravelry inbox once a week, finishing on February 2.
We’ve chosen some of our favorite yarns to recommend for this year’s Mystery Alongs. For the Knit Along, designed by Shellie Anderson, we’ve paired Manos del Uruguay’s Alegria with Sulka Legato by Mirasol. Both of these yarns are super-soft and a joy to work with. For the Crochet Along, designed by Sarah LarRieu, we’ve chosen Schoppel’s Crazy Zauberball and Cascade Heritage. The Crazy Zauberball colors complement the straightforward Heritage hues perfectly. We have some combinations already kitted up, but are also happy to help you pick out a pair that you’ll love working with!
And if you’re looking for someone to compare notes with as you work on your project, head on over to the Rose City Ravelry Forum. There you’ll find both spoiler-free and spoiler-full conversation threads to help you answer questions, celebrate wins and solve issues. Not to mention share excitement about the upcoming Crawl!
One of the things we love the most about Yarn Crawl is seeing everyone show off their completed (and sometimes mostly completed!) Mystery Alongs. It’s so fun to see the variety of color combinations that you all have chosen – no two are ever alike! We hope you’ll join in the fun, too!
