"Beginner Socks" by Diane Soucy in Knitting Pure & Simple

This starter sock pattern is knit top-down, using the heel flap method. Knit using worsted-weight yarn, the sock construction is easy to see and follow!

Students should be familiar with casting on, making knit and purl stitches, and working in the round before coming to class. Topics covered will include: Knitting using the magic loop method, basic top-down sock construction, Kitchener stitching, and picking up stitches.

Materials required for class:

  • One 100 gram skein of worsted-weight yarn
  • One US 6 circular needle (or size needed to obtain gauge) with a 32 inch cable or longer
  • One darning needle
  • The pattern, which is available on Ravelry or in the store

Materials are not included in the class fee, but students receive a 10% discount on yarn and supplies purchased at the shop.
